Hawaii Wedding and Hawaiian Wedding

Magic Island within the larger Ala Moana Beach Park and across from the landmark Ala Moana Shopping Center. It's about 15-20 minutes away from Waikiki (see in background). We really like this location in the late afternoons. It's convenient, easily accessible, it's scenic, has nice light and photographs well, and we never have to deal with people in the background!

The area we use is out on the man-made peninsula (Magic Island) about 150 yards from the parking lot, on the grass and up against the jetty to get unobstructed view of the ocean and Diamond Head. Unfortunately, the beach doesn't work good for ceremonies because it's set too low and you get people in the background.

It's a big regional park so "yes", there are people all over the place running and walking, but as you can see in many of the photos, there's rarely anyone just near our ceremony. A place like Lanikai or Waikiki area beaches are far more crowded. Remember, we don't go to locations we can't get great photos from or places where lack of privacy affects the coverage.

You can have your ceremony any time of the day, but because of the sun position, we suggest weddings after 1 pm with 5 pm in Winter and 6 pm in Summer for sunset being the best times.

It has a huge parking lot so it works well for large groups. Parking is usually not a problem on weekdays. Fridays can be very busy though and weekends are hit and miss.

If you want something easy, something close, something simple and nice, you might want to check this location out.
